ÂIt is ~/.config/google_chrome so its in the 'right place'.
That all depends... it seems that there's half-a-dozen different places
to look for user config info. ÂI wouldn't mind if things stuck to the
same rules, but it would seem that users should expect settings in one
of the following:
Â~/.appnameconfigfile
Â~/.appname/configfile(s)
Â~/.config/appname/configfiles(s)
Â~/.gnome/ (somewhere)
Â~/.gnome2/ (somewhere)
Â~/.kde/share/apps/appname/configfile(s)
Â~/.kde/share/config/appnamerc
Â~/.kde4/share/apps/appname/configfile(s)
Â~/.kde4/share/config/appnamerc
Â~/.local/appname
$XDG_CONFIG_HOME
defines the base directory relative to
which user specific configuration files should be stored. If
$XDG_CONFIG_HOME
is either not set or empty, a default equal to
$HOME
/.config should be used.-- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
