I'd fix the printer issues before worrying about sharing it. What is logged in the CUPS log? Most GNU/Linux and Unix printer drivers are scripts, so in the unlikely event they don't log errors verbosely enough one can usually easily persuade them to be very verbose. > Also, if I try to find the printer from a Windows machine it does not > show up - I think I've probably messed around with the smb.conf file too > much after extensive googling. The relevant parts are as follows: Windows can print using IPP, so you should not need Samba to act as a print server.
