With the nVidia-Settings application (for tweaking settings using the
proprietary nvidia Xorg+kernel modules) when you 'configure' 2 monitors
you're given the option of "disabled", "twinview" or "separate x
sessions" (IIRC).  I've never played with it as I generally only want
twinview on my laptop... but what does it do? I always figured it
configured each output as separate x sessions.
