Hmmm Kai I'd like to have a server (or two) somewhere local ish but without the problems of local power and communications outages. I'd also like it to be realistically available - not quite 24/7 but maybe 363/365. This would be ideal for 'local' provision - the chance are the 'customers' power would be down. I'm fairly happy with the remote admin that you get with linux and almost anything seems to have a web control panel theses days. It should be possible to build a setup that allows some form of external control in almost all situations. Now if we could have 3 setups like these within the Cornwall Devon area that effectively mirror each other over hight speed links so there is always some availability then your cooking on Co2 free gas. We could, conceivably, look at making our own datacenter and seeing how it runs and selling off surplus capacity? Just a ramble.....
