-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 > There is a HOWTO on the DCGLUG Wiki. I'll be sure to check this out! I've found an introduction also on the enigmail site that is quite useful and covers everything in quite a straight forward manner. The URL of the page, if anyone is interested is : http://enigmail.mozdev.org/help.html > > GUIs exist -- but probably with cryptography it is a good idea to have a > vague idea what is happening underneath, so you don't send your secret > key anywhere, or something equally silly. So learn with the command > line, and then chose a GUI for key management later. To be honest I do > so little key management I usually use "gpg" directly. > Thanks to your instructions I've exported my key to a keyserver so now that should be available for everyone! I think your advice about learning on the command line is good too - often I've found that the command line is also quicker than using a gui, at least if you know the commands to begin with! Thanks for everyone's replies! Hopefully my mail will be a little more secure now :-) Looking forward to trying out different mail clients too! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFFOQq0m0bAnfQblvARAhMWAJ9wgELYgSbPiFNKDeOr2O0QKM1PSQCdFwzI PZNWSIIFOCGLgrtoXyKhOSA= =9Ox8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
