mount -t usbdevfs I guess.
Would I have to actually mount a modem??? Sounds awkward!
It is in the usb guide online somewhere. Then prodding around the dir, reveals a lot: hendry@xxxxxxx:/proc/bus/usb$ cat drivers usbdevfs hub 96-111: hiddev hid
Aha. Now it comes clear. I only have the first two lines in /proc/bus/usb/drivers (Hence the unknown report from Mandrake9 and I've since tested it with a host of other distros too, SuSE 7.1, Debian3, Slackware8, Lycoris, Mandrake 8.2 (expected seeing as M9 couldn't see it) and I'm about to see if Knoppix or DemoLinux can cope with it.)
That is what I get with an USB mouse plugged in.
