It's a faq on many linux lists.

I can't remember seeing a HOWTO for removing linux on www.ldp.org but perhaps 
it's because I wasn't looking (www.linuxnewbie.org or is it 
www.linux-newbie.org may also have something?)

If a super-duper all gui, reliable, installation and un-installation routines 
were available for linux, more people would try it out.
