As an educator, the merits of the latter didn't need much working out! I now have quite a bit of 'arduino' and although it's not up for grabs, I'd be happy to see it used in a 'code club' type of environment. I'm down in Penzance, the lab is in Longrock. I've got a fairly good range of basic science equipment which we can use to design, test and develop any ideas; although my science is good, my C is rudimentary. Is there anyone down here with coding skills who'd like to help to start such a club? You can contact me on- or off- list if you are interested. Best, fraser
Do you need it to be C - there is a lot of stuff going around in Python?I might be able to kick start you, I have a few Arduinos around and Pis, but I can't do C particularly well, yet (I managed microcontroller programming in assembler in the PIC days ...)
Give me a shout and let me know what kinds of things you want to do. I'd also refer you to our friend Bill who runs the maker space at his school in Barnstaple too. He's placed a couple of entries into the PiWars competitions too!
I might be able to hop on the train down to Penzance if you get stuck, but unlikely to be able to come down regularly, sadly!
Best regards, Michael.
