My personal opinion. I want my GP to share my data throughout the UK, and it being used for research of other purposes. My body when I die is already donated to allow students to practice their cutting up skills. (Surgery is a manual skill as well as a knowledge skill)
My wife is a Celebrant. Right now due to the pandemic, there is a huge backlog of bodies waiting in freezers to go for medical research purposes. So much so, that today, she's arranging a funeral for someone who thought (and who's family thought) they were all signed up for research purposes. It's caused some angst in the family.
So while we all hope we all live a very long time, for the next year or so they probably won't be taking on new bodies for research.
