That's a good start, you'll definitely need the Intel Microcode
installed as well. What does this get you in a terminal?
apt-cache policy nvidia-384
If it gets you "Installed: (none)" then issue the following:
sudo apt install nvidia-384 && sudo reboot
This is only a first step by the way - you'll quite possibly still need
to negotiate other 'fun' Linux stuff like kernel mode setting at boot to
get things working properly/at all yet. Plus a potential firmware update
from Intel and installing the xorg-edgers PPA to get a decent Xorg stack...
One thing at a time though.
Cheers
