I'm still not entirely sure as to why literally the first post-install
job on any Linux box wouldn't be to immediately enable SSHD... When it
starts misbehaving, the first port of call is to always SSH in to fix it.
sudo apt install openssh-server
sudo systemctl enable ssh
ssh localhost (to test it)
