Thanks for that reply. I have been looking for such companies for a while and, there you go, I find one, entroware, and now you have given me another one, nimbus. I will look at them both carefully. One difference, entroware does include two desktop computers as well as laptops, whereas it seems that nimbus offer laptops only.As a customer of Entroware and a user of their machines for both work and play, I can in all good conscience give a hearty thumbs-up to them, their service, their hardware and their support. I also use other hardware from companies that build just for Linux, namely System-76 (from the USA), and Nimbus, much nearer home in the North East of England - https://nimbusoftstore.com/ Based on my personal experiences with them all over the years, I am happy to recommend them to anyone who wants a machine born to run Linux from the outset (including those with nvidea cards). That said, these days, I do my best to support the small privately owned and run concerns wherever possible, and preferably those more local to me here in the UK. If there is one thing I have found over the years, to buy and then use a machine designed to run Linux out of the box is a delight when compared to one that is not, and even with the benefit of hind-sight I have to say, worth every penny spent. So, in summary, I totally agree; these people should be supported and encouraged by us all wherever possible. Aidan
Will have a careful look at them both, Neil -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG https://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
