Well at least your local IT shop sounds really cool - good of them to
let you quickly borrow stuff to test with!
The system also badly needs a reflash, just look here:

You're on v2.80 from last year according to your dmidecode output from
before - they're up to 7.20 now and that is a *lot* of updates, some of
which conspicuously include updates to the "EZ" interface itself.
