As already mentioned my desktop computer screen has died on me so I am now using my laptop as a desktop. I do sometimes miss noticing that the battery is getting low and this causes the laptop to suddenly lose all power. (As I have always had a desktop computer until just recently I am not very knowledgeable about working with laptops.) I know that this is not good for the battery, but I am not too worried as I am quite happy to work with the power on. I have had a look around the internet and, as usual, come across conflicting advice. I would like to simply turn on the power to the laptop when I first use it in the morning and to leave it on all day until I am finished with it in the evening. Then turn it off overnight. Is that a bad idea or would it be acceptable? I have heard that it is not a good idea to run a laptop without any battery installed, so I will leave it in place.
