So, yes, it's significant, but not mysteriously so, unless the drive is a SATA device, of course. echo 2000 > /sys/module/block/parameters/events_dfl_poll_msecs Nothing happened, so I ejected the disk that was in there and put it back in.. still no reaction. I've also just looked up the model number, BDR 207M - at least that's what Mint says it is - and it /is/ a SATA device according to the reviews and specs, so could that be the problem? My friend is going to come up on the weekend and pull the side off the box to confirm visually, but it seems likely it /is/ SATA. Julian |
