any suggestions welcome please
have you tried FM's suggestion yet? quoth Fabian Melters to lubuntu-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on Wed, 05 Dec 2012 06:29:27 +0100:
try to set the rights for ~/.config/alien-arena: chown -R psutton:psutton ~/.config/alien-arena
also, fyi, problems strikingly similar to your own are discussed in a few forum discussions, listed below. if i were you, i would keep the following things in mind when reading them: 1. do *not* su to root and run the game. do *not* sudo the game. advice to run any game with root privileges is of dubious wisdom. 2. it looks to me like one of the posters in the kubuntu-specific thread suggests making the game world-writeable. that sounds like a Bad Idea (though i am not An Expert). that said, here are the threads: lubuntu-specific thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-games-33/lubuntu-alien-arena-wont-start-917531/ kubuntu-specific thread: http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?57565-Alien-Arena ubuntu thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1882171 -wes On Mon, 3 Dec 2012, paul sutton wrote:
