Is it possible as a lug we can either create our own or obtain several official mint cd's for use at events. As it is nearly summer, and therefore cricket season I will ask if we can meet at the rugby / cricket club in Paignton on Saturdays, (maybe when the Second XI or other teams are at home (not first XI as that tends to draw more people) the cd's from the mint site seem rather expensive.
Nothing stopping us as far as I know. Just a case of getting some CDs (or DVDs since some of the Mint images are over 700MB, even over 1GB now) and burning them and doing some sort of labels (or getting someone with a CD/DVD printer to print some printable media).
Could even do USB sticks with it on if we can find a cheap supply of them.
I will also find out if the wireless internet has set up is going to be available all year as in through the cricket season. (don't get me started on why it may not be, )
Shouldn't be a problem, just use a phone with tethering, USB 3G modem or Mifi device. Or if anyone gets one, a Raspberry Pi, Mobile Charger, Wifi dongle and 3G modem :-)
we could perhaps then do an event or meet there once or twice over the summer.
Sounds good. Maybe even sit outside if it's nice.
Perhaps after looking at the website creating versions of 11 would be a better plan, reason for this is that a downloadable manual is available, for version 11, so i guess they are working on version 12 manual.
Version 13 will be out in the next month or so and it'll be an LTS release so supported until April 2015 ish.
