I've had a couple of problems with Lucid: The apache webserver doesnt work as it did. I havent as yet got to the bottom of it but it stopped processing php and is offering it for download. I use netbeans and deleting and re-making projects starts those projects working again but I havent got non-netbeans php working again.
Can't help on that one, I'm not running Apache yet, when I get round to installing 10.04 Server I'll give it a try.
Firefox and NoScript - just clicking on the NoScript icon takes out the whole of the X11 session - I've removed NoScript and all seems to be fine.
Is there a new version of NoScript available at all? Not sure what else to suggest (I don't run NoScript).
The loudspeaker icon/volume control has gone missing so sound is a bit of a pain - you're deaf by the time you find the volume control through the menus...
Not had that problem, the volume control is there between the network icon and the mail/chat envelope icon.
Otherwise it seems to boot PDQ but takes longer to login (seems as pointless as MS quick login - it takes the same time to get to work...)
Boots quick here too, I've opted for Ext3, seems quicker on my machine than Ext4 (although running a disk check takes longer), logging in takes a couple of seconds though.
Must say I cant see any benefits yet.... Tom te tom te tom
I can, although the window controls are still bugging me. Rob -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
