Here's my Screen section of xorg.conf.
The _75 specifies the "refresh rate".

    Device         "Device0"
    Monitor        "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth    24

    Option         "metamodes" "1440x900_75 +0+0; nvidia-auto-select +0+0"
