Not on my desktop (where I am at the moment) - I have links from dvd2, dvd3, dvdrw2, also cdrom2 ditto, and also scd0, scd1 which are not links. I'll have a look in my laptop. But why do other dvds mount and offer a window of options? Interesting that I did get this to happen once only on the laptop - I tried the command line option after closing the window and could not retrieve it again. Is this likely to be a mechanical/alignment issue or reflectivity of the surface and laser power? > > You may need to create a symbolic link from say, /dev/scd0 to /dev/dvd > > ln -s /dev/scd0 /dev/dvd My wife did rather enjoy the film (Dorian Gray) this morning - not my style at all. I like happy films. Thogh it did stop when the laptop decided it had its hour and suspended - no sound on resume.
