I think this is even nicer to use for simple install tasks. Plus it doesn't ask you to authenticate until you actually want to do anything. Telling newbies to open a terminal and run apt-get is just going to turn people off. I think it's a shame the process for adding new repositories can't be made a simple click, click process. I like the idea that people can setup launchpad accounts and build packages but if you actually want to get people to use them properly (ie add it to apt and install the gpg key) then it's a non trivial task.
