The > host must be OK as other computers can log in. > > Peter L-j Hi Peter, If it is the Ubuntu machine you're having difficulty logging-in to, then on the Ubuntu machine you will need to check your login manager (probably GDM) to see if it allows remote logins by XDMCP. On a plain vanilla Ubuntu you can get there by: System -> Administration -> Login Window -> (Enter password) -> Security -> Untick "Deny TCP connections".
