All well and good - the number of new FL/OSS applications introduced is so much higher that it's negligable. and most importantly the app's must be scratching an itch otherwise nobody would be using them - and if they're scratching an itch then if it wasn't being scratched the itchy user would go back to using more proprietary software (Mac OS, Win32).
