gNewSense. That's no less friendly than Ubuntu, and has all the
proprietary software removed.

How about freedom of choice?
They didn't bundle it, but instead allowed their users easy access if they want it.

There are several good reasons to not promote Ubuntu to anyone.

Opera being in a separate repository with "proprietary!! harms freedom!!" error messages is not one of them.
