The freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to your needs. 2. The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbour. 3. The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements to the public, so that the whole community benefits. A program is free software if users have all of these freedoms. Nothing about free software talks of the freedoms to take away the rights of others by 'choosing' proprietary software. Of course, we cannot tell people what to install, we can only advise them, but we should (as a group) refuse to promote or advocate the use of proprietary software. matt -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
