HiI have guarddog firewall enabled, and have set this up so it allows imap, pop and smtp mail as well as web browsing and irc, this is on the internet setting, I tried to print and it did not, so I am guessing that it's blocked local tcp/ip,However I am not sure what box to tick to enable this, tcp/ip is NOT listed under Network.I my printer is connected to the printer via router and cat 5 and has a static ip address, Debian is happy with this, both the printer and scanner work, I have a week before heading to canada and am not preparerd to fiddle, break something as there won't be time to fix it.can anyone help please Thanks Paul - http://www.zleap.net http://www.openoffice.org http://www.linux.org -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version 3.1GIT d S: a C+++ UL++++ P+ L++ W++ N+ W--- O! there is always time to fix these things, i expect you will need to open up access to port 631 or 9100. You need your firewall setup on your router, not your PC, as I have explained before... firewall at your single point of entry because if they can get beyond your router they're in anyway...
