[LUG] network printer, firewall blocking it

Hi

I have guarddog firewall enabled, and have set this up so it allows 
imap, pop and smtp mail as well as web browsing and irc,  this is on the 
internet setting, I tried to print and it did not, so I am guessing that 
it's blocked local tcp/ip,

However I am not sure what box to tick to enable this,  tcp/ip is NOT 
listed under Network.

I my printer is connected to the printer via router and cat 5 and has a 
static ip address,  Debian is happy with this, both the printer and 
scanner work,  I have a week before heading to canada and am not 
preparerd to fiddle, break something as there won't be time to fix it.

can anyone help please
