Can anyone explain why:On my (Debian) system all the executable files are in /usr/bin.
Mozilla is installed in the /usr/lib directory
Firefox is installed in the /etc directory
and
Konqueror is installed in the /usr/bin directory?
I mean, they are all web browsers, so why do they get installed to different directories?

If you're new to Linux it's possible to get confused about which is an executable file.
Read what you can about permissions and "is executable" in a Linux book. It isn't difficult to understand. (Trust me!)
