I have been with Metronet for about a year and can vouch for
their Linux friendliness. eg The guy I spoke to had not only heard
of KDE but seemed to know the in-and-outs ot the cat's a**e
about most versions of Kmail.

They also keep you informed of upgrades to their servers. During my
year with them I have had about 2-3 non-connects each of which was
during the installation of new ADSL pipes involving BT. (I get the 
impression they are not overly enthused with BT.)

As I'm not a heavy user their pricing system suits me.
At switch over I was paying less for ADSL than I did for dial-up.
