Relay host? Are you sure - if you send email to an SMTP relay host when you are not on their network it'll say "relaying not allowed".

$EDITOR /etc/aliases brown: brown@xxxxxxxxxxx
or per user $EDITOR ~/.forward
It gets slightly more involved if you have multiple domains to handle so "brown" is a different "brown" in different domains, but the Postfix documentation is pretty good on this.
