I've got a Dell machine on Loan (hoorah) But it comes with XP home (boo) But the owner is quite happy for me to use Knoppix (hoorah) But it can't write anything on the NTFS HDD (boo) Whilst I daren't reformat the whole HDD as FAT32, I could shove a very big FAT32 partition on (hoorah) But I can't figure out how to do that (boo) It appears to me as if there is something in XP home that should let you add a new partition, but as testimony to my level of stupidity I can't get it working (I assume its for when you add a new disk). Also, there's something on sourceforge / Debian package that seems to do NTFS resizing, but it needs debian testing (ntfsutils????). Don't fancy knackering someone elses machine because I'm too stupid to use testing properly. Am I going to have to buy Partition Magic to resize the NTFS / give me a FAT 32 partition / install my own debian (I reckon Knoppix could sell that concept, but without being able to write >1.44 Mb I can't get much work done).. Cheers for any advice.
