|keep an eye on | |"www.mstauctioneers.co.uk" | |They just had (Tuesday) an auction at Dunkerswell (near Honiton). They usually |have a few old IBM, Sun and SGI workstations and monitors.
| | |It would be nice to know what happens to all the old hardware from the IT |Services Dept's at Plymouth & Exeter (I know what happens to all our old Suns |and SGI systems in Physics - I assure you they get put to good use:)
Both my school and college used to lay old boxes in the skip in easy reach so that people could take them if they wanted. They felt it was a waste of hardware just dumping it in a landfill as a lot of the stuff was still viable for use as desktop machines (I've seen a skip with 20 266mhz celeron mini-towers and recently a bunch of P3 desktops) there just seems a lot of hassle involved in people taking old hardware via the "front door".
