I have been using a Canon IXUS V for a couple of years now. SuSE 8.1/8.2 puts an icon on your kde desktop when you plug it into USB - icon opens konqi to view thumbnails and drag/drop where you like. Problem! I have tried this on two desktop machines and it only works reliably on one of them - suspect hardware? Permissions sometimes need sorting out. Gtkam is reliable on both machines so I have not delved into the problem. USB download does not drain the rechargable battery excessively. As ever, when things work it's great. I have managed to impress a couple of people by plugging their cameras in and downloading - "What! don't you have to install the software?" "Naw - it's Linux, it just works!" ;-> Tony -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+8YTO+ZJrkBuz/nkRAoS/AKCTMXnJO4ozIj0dJQ/P0RWgwnyVCgCeKi5t tvIqQ2ve+DCm452DYjc4dTE= =bjRi -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
