Most certianly - 56k is unbearable! 128k is just about managable. The worst hting is if you get broadband, then forced back to 128kbit ISDN :p > Interestingly, our line got significantly better on the day we ordered > ISDN. ISDN requires real plain copper from your house to the exhange, and can't be DACed. They'll remve the DAC from your current line, and probably DAC some poor neighbour instead, unless there is a line free in your street box. The only problem is that if someone else needs a new voice line on your street, they will dac you again - and they are allowed to get away with it these days (and not forced to remove it like they used to is you asked nicly). However, BT R+D have come up with a DAC box that does 56k - supposedly. ~ Theo - -- Theo Zourzouvillys <theo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> <http://theo.me.uk/> -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+SUia448CrwpTn6YRAqWjAJ4vasCk8iVlOaw6SZaLgaJz90vu4wCgpXET gyBWkfESVntQMwocTXZJv5M= =IVWa -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
