What is special about Paradox (and for that matter all Windows databases that I have encountered) is that the GUI is built in as part of the program. There is no need to call up a separate GUI program and then link them. This is what makes Paradox et al so much easier to set up. I have yet to find a Linux database that does the same thing. Anyone....??
I know zilch abbout database GUIs. But I know they exist: every package manager on Linux or FreeBSD offers me a selection of them. If I wanted one, I'd just install and test-drive it. Forget the underlying database engine, and just pretend the GUI "is" the database, if you want a windows-lookalike. -- Nick Kew -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
