My ISDN line went strange a while back. As part of the fix I got a new NTW (BT DIgital Access box ) with USB on it but that is, so far, another matter. The data line glitched again, and got reset and its enthusiasm restored today, so all is hunky dory. However, during the first outage I set up my laptop (SuSE 7.2 ) and an old analog modem, and demonstrated that I could get a connection using kppp - the account shows 1:37 of access in fact. Easy to setup , effective, handy for going on PICNIC (Paris, Sept 25-6 EU regional open source in healthcare meeting.) etc, albeit I think the Novotel is networked. So during the 2nd outage I was surprised to see an absolutely blank kppp form, and an instruction to su and chown the onfig file, which on inspection I did not have. Any thoughts? Like on getting it back to zero and starting again? And also on a free French access point. -- From one of the Linux desktops of Dr Adrian Midgley http://www.defoam.net/ -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG Mail majordomo@xxxxxxxxxxxx with "unsubscribe list" in the message body to unsubscribe.
