I've just had an interesting conversation with a support manager at BT Openworld. I phoned the support line after hg16 died and was sending me radius terminations. So i want through the normal palava: click on start -- BT i don't have a start -- me why now -- bt i use linux -- me and away we go,him telling me thats the problem, blah blha. so to keep him happy i plug my frog into windows, and he talks me through t. I try to soound have interested in what he's tellign me to do. nayway, guess what - it didn'#t work.
are we all together surprised ?
So he asks me to check some mroe settings, when he interuppts: what home gateway did you say you are using? hg16 -- me Well i've just got an email about a servie outage -- guy.
service / severe ?
so i try to explain to him that it's not linux at fault and there *are* people using it. Now the interesting thig is he told me he was asked to inform the powers above when they come across operating systems other than windows that people use, he didn't know why, but my guesss they might be thinking about supporting linux - maybe *shrug*. So if you're a BT Openworld ADSL user, and you talk to support, mention that you use lixux, and ask them to tell their centre manager.
Kewel.. is lixux a new os ?
Myabe if they get told enough times they will see people are using it, and maybe even support it, or at least let us be with linux while phoning support.
oh look.. a flying pig !
