Thanks for concern but its ok,for those wanting the patch disk search outJust because you have that DVD, it doesn't mean that many others can reach that info. What Alex and I are concerned about with private details in the DCLUG archive is sheer availability. 1. The Electoral Role isn't available globally. 2. It isn't available to absolutely everyone online. 3. The DCLUG archive is comprehensively indexed by multiple search engines. The DCLUG site has a customised 404 error page to cope with just these problems - it surprised me how many people found the DCLUG site when searching for completely unrelated topics. One message about a child charity resulted in a dozen emails from non-list members complaining about not finding the file once the archive was moved to make room for newer messages. So, it would be advisable for private details, especially home addresses, to go via private email. (All list members have access to the email address of the member sending the message, the archive removes this later.) On the same topic, if your email address exists in your email signature (not the GnuPG / PGP signature, the bit added at the end of your message with your name etc), you should expect some web robots to locate it. The archive process removes the other details. It may increase your spam.
