[LUG] Can't stop Printing

Hi
       Can any printer gurus offer me some help?
       Both my known to be OK printers produce garbage from my SuSE
       7.1 box..
       Even worse they won't stop printing although there is nothing in either
       of the queues.
       The only way to stop them is to do "clean all", "down all" and "up all".
       Any ideas?
