If the data is there on most partitions, as advised take it slow, figure out the
mounted/in mounted conundrum, I don't think Grub will impact that.
Also you may well need to reinstall affected partition. If that means reinstalling
Debian it may be better to go that route as soon as you figure out what happened
(and backup what's left before fiddling if you don't have a current one).
