Hi BradThanks for this, I have updated the join page, so hopefully it is clearer, I have to admin I hardly noticed the sign up button at the top earlier, hence the confusion.
Is there a way to make this stand out a little more ? https://www.dcglug.org.uk/join/ Hope this helps Paul On 14/08/2024 10:25, Brad Rogers wrote:

The correct addresses are; list-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxx list-join@xxxxxxxxxxxxx However, from the list sign up page (right below the log in button): You can also subscribe without creating an account. If you wish to do so, please use the form below. The reason for the login is so one can alter various settings; e.g. stop receiving own messages, stop all mail temporarily, change to/from digest, etc. AFAIR, 'twas ever thus. All that's changed are the sub/unsub addresses (which would have been subscribe@ and unsubscribe@). The cynic in me believes the reason for changing from '(un)subscribe' is the number of people that fail to spell either 'subscribe' or 'unsubscribe' correctly (people generally, I'm not trying to single out anyone here([1]). So much so, in fact, that I have server side filters set up to delete messages that have some of the more common misspellings of those words, and only those words, in the subject header so I rarely see such administrivia posted to lists. [1] I wouldn't know - I don't seen many such messages any more. :-D
