I recently came across this project on Sourcehut. It's a fully
open-source, hackable media player which focuses on using standard
hard/software. I thought it looked pretty neat.
The price point might be a little high for a device of its kind in this
day and age, but as someone who's really missing the halcyon days of the
offline media player, I'm tempted.
