Here are some useful links: https://broadband.moneysavingexpert.com/ https://www.hotukdeals.com/search?q=broadband I've not had personal experience with Vodafone but I've heard their customer service is nothing special (but not the worst). When I last checked, they don't support IPv6 (I feel it's important to give business to ISPs that are making an effort to implement this as it's long overdue in the UK): https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Broadband-connection/IPV6/td-p/2642952 It may be worth clarifying with your landlord re. Virgin as they are pretty good value if you want the speeds they offer. However, still no IPv6 from them either. Personally, I would hold out until a good deal is available on Sky or NowTV. They are good value, support IPv6, and my experience of their customer service is better than TalkTalk, PlusNet, and BT. Their default router is pretty well designed and stable with attention paid to secure implementation. The technical support team (when I last used them 18 months ago) were knowledgable and very helpful. I would avoid BT. Although their service isn't bad, they are expensive and focus on marketing and sales over everything else. They will make a concerted effort to upsell all their products, overcomplicating everything to try to confuse you in to signing up for one of their expensive long contracts. If price is not important, I've heard excellent things about Andrews and Arnold. Even though one of the more expensive options, they are still probably cheaper than BT. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG https://mailman.dcglug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
