I have used black & white printers from OKI, as they in their 'laser' (actually LED operated) printers have served me well on both windows (when I had to use Windows OS for Work) and on Linux since 2000. I have bought desk printers for office use such as Oki BE 431dn (B = black ink only ) and have found they last very well, but I use a 10,000 nominal page large ink tank every 3 years of so. (3 used in last 12 years ) Post script or other printer modes, CUPS based. Operates with: Debian, Ubuntus, openSUSE (my main setup), Mint very well. I have had 3 printers in that time, the first being a single page printer, which I outgrew & have used BE431dn for about 9 years. (Ethernet cable connected to house network). Now you can get Wifi ones. I do not print in colour, so while they provide colour printers I have no experience of them. An very old inherited ink jet from Epson, used a couple of times in last thee years worked well using CUPS. -- regards Eion MacDonald -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG https://mailman.dcglug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
