Well the SG-100 comes pre-loaded with the software when bought, so in
essence it is the same as any highend Tp-Link or D-Link that the average
punter might buy - but with more chance of regular updates.
A user should be able to plug-in to the LAN port with their laptop and
configure the WAN just as they might do with other routers.
But yes, these are aimed at a more professional end-user (or one
supported by a professional, ahem... such as myself.)
I echo your concerns with the consumer router market, just my solution
is to go to SOHO or SME market.
