MartijnWell when you've finished reading all the RFCs and the Thunderbird source code please get back and let us know! I should maybe have been more precise - in my experience as an end user it's always been fine. I'm not a security researcher so I haven't exactly done a massive in-depth technical analysis of potential flaws in Thunderbird MIME handling believe it or not. In fact, I'm pretty sure that's your job... :] Cheers
Thunderbird. There are some problems. It depends on both sender and recipient settings; and if there are attachments.
If you as sender set to always send in plain text this works for sending. But you in T/bird you would not see mail sent to you in HTML sometimes,Some mail incoming have a fall back screen in plain text Giving a warning that email is sent in HTML IF sender sets this up and refers you to read in browser.
(I get this from some senders with option to view in web browser)example I send to daughter always in plain text, her email on phone only sends in HTML. I need to change settings to read in HTML.
This specifically seems to be when a photo is sent.Attachments only visible as attachments when T'bird set to read as HTML email. As I know how to handle daughter's emails I do not worry, but remember there are 3 preferences for sending in T'bird: plain text, HTML or both.
