I am using one of a USB -> Sata cable and one of the hard disks from a netbook, works fine, The TV I hve uses FAT32 file system, so I am able to copy data from the hdd to my pc, burn to cd etc. Quite a lot of TVs don't allow this as you can't easily read the hard disk in other devices.
