Thanks Martin but that doesn't explain why it's suddenly started doing it, and why not for all programs requiring a login.

Skype 4.3 never had the keychain support. The latest one does.

I imagine the same with Chrome (for those that use it)

I recently had a customer with exactly this scenario after I upgraded their Skype from 4.3
