You need to connect up to a monitor (or possibly ssh in if on ethernet) and do a sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get upgrade and then reboot as it needs to load the drivers for the screen.

Check the leads are connected properly - they can slip when you pop the grips down

If it was showing the command/gui on a monitor and you have shutdown and restarted and the monitor is no longer working then I'm guessing its trying to talk to the touchscreen but due to USB problems mentioned earlier its scrambled the ssd and you may need to re-install this. Do you have another Pi to try it on just in case? Otherwise re-do the disk and re sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade then restart!
