Microsoft doesn't have anything close to a monopoly on the server market, so this is a sound business decision. As for Office for Linux, they would have have done that long ago if it wasn't for the fact that a) the Linux Desktop market is very small b) said market is mostly populated by people who wouldn't use MS products anyway and c) Office 365 appears to work well on Linux.
